This simple moisture sensor uses two probes to pass current through the soil, using the resistance to measure the amount of moisture present in the soil. More water present makes the soil conduct electricity more easily (giving less resistance), while dry soil conducts electricity poorly (giving more resistance). Perfect for various Arduino-based IoT garden projects such as soil monitoring and remembering to water your plants!
