The MAX15091AETI+ from Maxim Integrated Products is a 2.7V to 18V, 9A, integrated hot swap solution with current report output in 28 pin TQFN package. This IC is integrated solutions for hot-swap applications requiring the safe insertion and removal of circuit line cards from a live backplane. It integrates a hot-swap controller, 18mohm (typ) power MOSFET and an electronic circuit-breaker protection in a single package. The device integrates an accurate current-sense circuitry and provide 170µA/A of proportional output current. It features an IN to OUT short-circuit detection before start-up and provides a power-MOSFET GATE pin to program slew rate during start-up by adding an external capacitor. It has overvoltage/undervoltage input pins that can detect an overvoltage/undervoltage fault and disconnect the IN from the OUT. Typically used at blade servers, server I/O cards, RAID systems, disk drive power, storage applications and industrial applications.
